CSI: Christmas Service Initiative

CSI Wenatchee – is an idea born out of thought and discussion about the Family Christmas Service this year.  We began thinking of a more active rendering of the word “service” and before long, our traditional “Family Christmas Service,” became an idea for an overarching theme for our entire Christmas season! We’re calling it Christmas Service Initiative, or CSI, and the goal is to create a variety of family friendly ways to serve others!  Here are some opportunities already being planned that can involve both individuals and families this holiday season.  You can get more information or sign up either by calling the worship arts office at church, or signing up on Sundays at the SERVE Kiosk!

A Cup of Clean Water Project

Cup of Clean Water is another great service opportunity opening up to the WFMC family beginning this Christmas season. This is a ministry endeavor providing families and children in third world countries with a life-long water purification system. With a gift of $50, you can provide one family with clean water for life. If you would like to be a part of this ministry, you can send a check for $50, made out to WFMC with "water filters" written on the memo line and bring it to the church office or mail it to: Wenatchee Free Methodist Church, 1601 5th Street, Wenatchee WA 98801

    UPDATE! (1.14.10)

To date, including the matching grant, there is enough to send 1000 filters to Haiti! Fourty-eight hours BEFORE the earthquake, 100 filters had been delivered to families in Haiti. Wed, Jan 13, another 100 filters were in Haiti for a total of 200 thus far. Next week another shipment of filters is being delivered. They are still able to distribute filters! The instructions for the families that recieve a filter have been translated into French and Creole, the native languages of Haiti. Because of the earthquake, the Hatians are in more need than ever of fresh clean water. If you would like to help in this project, the display is still in the Foyer. Check it out this Sunday!

    UPDATE! (1.25.10)

The total water filters that have been sent to Haiti is now 430 along with 300 buckets to use with the filters!
