When Jesus walked the earth, He said that He came not to be served, but to serve. Serving is the essence of the Christian faith. Christ-followers enthusiastically follow Jesus' example and understand that serving assists them in having Christ more fully formed in them.
Serving at WFMC happens in three ways:
Serve the Church
WFMC is grateful for the 800+ volunteers who serve the church family. These volunteers perform a myriad of ministries including worship, mentoring, greeting, teaching, leading groups, facility maintenance, office assistance, ushering, singing, practical helps, and more.
Get Connected: If you'd like to explore a serving opportunity, please click below. Our goal is to find the best ministry fit possible for you.
Listed below are several opportunities to serve:
Twice Monthly E-mails: If you'd like, we'd be glad to e-mail you our latest serving opportunities. You might find something that you'd love to do!
Serve the Valley
We're pleased to partner with dozens of churches in a ministry organization called "Serve Wenatchee Valley." SWV is a clearing house that meets the pivotal needs in people's lives such as: rental assistance, utility bills assistance, furniture, food provision, and support groups. SWV also works with the Salvation Army, Community Action, Bruce Transitional Housing, Hospitality House, Haven of Hope, Philadelphia House, and others.
Several people from WFMC are on the Lead Team of the JHC, and are members of the P.A.T.H. Land Trust, which seeks to buy land and/or property and develop it in order to take the cost of land largely out of the housing cost equation. The JHC works to raise awareness among city and county leaders and assists in defending the rights of the less fortunate when the economic forces of our region threaten their well-being and housing options.
Confident Kids: Growing up today can be stressful. Broken or unhealthy relationships, abuse, alcoholism, unemployment, accidents, illness, low self-esteem, violence or substance abuse are just a few of the issues that face many of our children. Confident Kids, for children ages 5-12, provides support groups for hurting children and struggling parents.
Life Groups: Many Life Groups engage in service projects throughout the Wenatchee Valley.
Serve the World
WFMC has commissioned short term mission teams to places such as Haiti, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Kenya, Cambodia, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Costa Rica, Nigeria, Philippines, Paraguay, Chile, and Barbados.
