Support Ministries

We offer compassionate care to those in need through the following ministries and support groups:

Life During Grief

Have you (or know someone who has) experienced a significant loss and need some help as you navigate through the journey? The good news is that WFMC is offering a Life During Grief workshop.

This 8-week session begins Wednesday, October 14,  6:30 - 8:00 PM in the Chapel.  Registration is $30 (scholarships are available).

Benefits include:  courage, permission, comfort, hope, learning from each other,  support for the journey and encouragement. Many have attended multiple times, and each time they've found it very helpful.

Perhaps you can invite a friend (Would you go with me?") We meet in a very casual environment so we can have discussion and get to know one another, but no one is required to talk.  To register, please contact Linda Bondo: at 662-1502 or email.  Brochures and registration forms are available at the information center in the lobby.

Divorce Recovery

If you have experienced divorce or a broken relationship, Divorce Recovery is a caring group of people who will walk along side you through this difficult experience. The group is led by compassionate people that understand what you are experiencing and have resources to help. You’ll gain access to valuable information for healing and restoration.

Confident Kids

Kids today are profoundly impacted by high stress situations. Confident Kids is a powerful support group for kids and their caregivers. It is a Bible based support group ministry offering a life skills curriculum that helps families with children ages 5-12 years old dealing with the stresses of living in today’s world. Through games, crafts, skits, and small group discussions, children learn important skills while in a safe place to talk about their life experiences. In a concurrent group, parents learn to apply these same skills at home while in a safe place to share their stories as well. In both groups, participants grow as they discover they are not alone in their pain. Parents/caregivers are required to attend the Adult Support Group.

You Shouldn’t Feel That Way… Just Get Over It!

Have you ever had anyone tell you that? That statement can be extremely hurtful when what you are feeling is very real. Kids especially have a hard time processing feelings brought on by negative situations going on around them. They need to know that all their feelings are okay, that they can learn to work through their feelings, and that God cares about them intimately. Confident Kids provides support groups for hurting children and struggling parents. Kids work together in small groups with their facilitators, while their parents/caregivers meet nearby, sharing experiences and learning ways to help their child and families. At home, parent/caregiver and child work together to reinforce what they are learning in class. The current session began Monday, Sept 21, from 6:30-8 pm, entitled: Facing My Feelings: All My Feelings Are Okay, but it's not too late to join!

Childcare is available by request.

For more information or to register, email Cathy Rice or call 509-663-5765. Brochures are available at the Information Center.

MOPS (Mothers Of Pre-Schoolers)

MOPS International exists to encourage, equip, and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother, and leader in the name of Jesus Christ. Moms of children, infants through kindergarten, meet with other moms as well as mentor moms who have had some of the same experiences. As a group, moms have the opportunity to discuss concerns and ask questions all while knowing that their children are being cared for onsite by loving and caring childcare volunteers. MOPS is a great way to make new friends and connect with other moms.

MOPS meets September - May on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month from 9-11 AM in the Fireside Room. Registration is limited and is available on a first come first served basis. For more info or to register, email Jaime Garness or call 509-885-2435.
