Support Ministry

We offer compassionate care to those in need through support groups for those hurting from divorce, loss of a loved one, and children and their parents with family challenges.

We also have a new Senior Care Team ready to minister to provide ongoing ministry to various seniors at WFMC.

Senior Care — Approximately 175 individual seniors or couples that belong to WFMC. We have WFMC constituents who wish to minister to these who have practical needs for assistance or spiritual ministry. We welcome your assistance in discovering seniors in WFMC who might need care. We hope to provide weekly and/or monthly help for those who need a visit, prayer, communion, help with shopping, perhaps a few minor repairs on their property, occasional cleaning, etc.

Please report legitimate needs like these to our Senior Care Team.

Divorce Recovery — Offered twice a year, in the fall and spring, for 10 weeks on Sunday evenings, this course is designed to meet two main objectives:

· To help divorced people understand their emotions and give concrete steps
   of action to deal with those emotions.

· To provide an emotional support group.

This course is for those who are divorced, those who may be separated and those trying to reconcile.

Life During Grief — If you have experienced a significant loss, please let us send you a brochure that describes what is being discussed, such as: When Dreams Fall Apart, The Seasons of Grief, Eight Emotion Markers, Five Forward Steps. We will meet you anytime to help you with your journey. We are convinced that no one should ever grieve alone.

Confident Kids/Confident Families — Wouldn’t it be great if we had a place to give focused time and attention to families in our community who are struggling…a place where we could offer support and encouragement, pray with them, and teach them skills to cope with their life circumstances?  Confident Kids/Confident Families is that place! Growing up today can be stressful. Broken or unhealthy relationships, abuse, alcoholism, unemployment, accidents, illness, low self-esteem, violence or substance abuse are just a few of the issues that face many of our children. Confident Kids/Confident Families, a Bible-based ministry for children ages 5-12, provides support groups for hurting children and struggling parents.
